His misleading acts and words

Alone, at the piano, sounding out each note, attentively, in her own world.
Alone, for years, her body has adjusted to the comfort of darkness swallowing her whole.
Crescendo, diminuendo, gradually she regains consciousness of where she is, alone.
Her long, suppressed body stiffens as an unknown figure intrudes her blackness.
The figure stood behind her, observing her closely.
He sat next to her.
She feels his weight on the chair and the warmth from his body.
Did her heart miss a beat? She whispers silently.
Under the dimmed lights, she sees his half-embarrassed smile and struggling hands trying to catch up with hers.
He glances over and sees the corners of her lips curling up, resembling to a tight smile.
For once, she felt an urge to let go of her insecurity.
To feel fullness of her surroundings,
emerging from her darkness.
She laughs whole-heartedly.
Their laughters finally brought the disastrous duet to a stop.
