So disappointed.
Just when I'm about to become crazily in love with Mavis Fan and her 100% band, I found out she is just copying the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Sigh.....from the new songs to her make-up & costumes.
Same goes for Josie Ho. When she was performing on stage this one time, you can tell her gestures and movements were soooo.......Karen O's. However, these Chinese artists are both reserved in the fact that they couldn't really make all the weird, wild noises that Karen O does. She's the one and only. I think it takes courage to introduce this type of music into the Chinese music industry, however I hope that both Mavis and Josie can find their own styles soon. And I mean......100% only had 3 songs on their album, and 2 of them can be traced back to YYYs' songs. Mavis, you were doing so well with your jazz album.......WTF happened??
So surprised.
After watching more Mavis's videos, I actually like her style of dressing better because it's very colorful and textual. She really has good sense and taste. I only hope that she will keep on rocking and produce more awesome and unique music with her band.
